Description
Recombinant human Interleukin-12 (IL-12) produced in CHO cells is a ~75 kDa glycoprotein comprised of disulfide-linked 35kDa (p35) and 40kDa (p40) subunits. IL-12 is produced by activated B lymphocytes and macrophages. The properties of IL-12 include the stimulation of growth of activated T lymphocytes, and actions in the development of Th1 CD4 +ve cells and CD8 +ve cytotoxic T cells. IL-12 also promotes activity and division of NK cells and promotes formation of TH1 cells producing &gamma-interferon.
