Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the amino terminus of human Siglec-7 protein.
Background
Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 7 (Siglec-7), also known as AIRM1, is a member of the CD33-related Siglec family, a subset of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface proteins (1-3). Siglec-7 is found in human immune cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells, monocytes, and neutrophils (1,2). Siglec-7 acts as an immune inhibitory receptor via its intracellular tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) (1-5). Downregulation of cell surface Siglec-7 is an early marker of NK cell dysfunction, which can be associated with chronic viral infection or impaired anti-tumor activity (4).
