Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.
Protocol
Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Chromatin IP
Specificity / Sensitivity
MLXIP/MondoA (F8A8L) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total MLXIP/MondoA protein.
Species Reactivity: Human
Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human MLXIP/MondoA protein.
Background
MLX-interacting protein (MLXIP), also known as the transcriptional activator MondoA, forms a heterodimer with MLX to bind to DNA, activating transcription of genes involved in glycolysis (1,2). Studies show that MLXIP/MondoA functions as a metabolic stress sensor in common B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) cells by downregulating pyruvate dehydrogenase activity, inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation. Furthermore, MLXIP/MondoA overexpression correlates with poor survival rates in pediatric common acute lymphoblastic leukemia, suggesting that MLXIP/MondoA contributes to B-ALL malignancy by mediating adaptive responses to metabolic stress (3). In addition, studies show that MLXIP/MondoA is a regulator of cellular senescence. It delays cellular senescence by maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis and activating autophagy (4).
