Product Usage Information
Western Blotting: 1:1000
Storage
Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.
Protocol
Available protocols: Western Blotting
Specificity / Sensitivity
ISG20 Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total ISG20 protein.
Species Reactivity: Human
Source / Purification
Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the amino terminus of human ISG20 protein. Antibodies are purified by peptide affinity chromatography.
Background
Interferon-stimulated 20 kDa protein (ISG20) is an exoribonuclease that functions as part of the host innate immune response to RNA-based viruses. Indeed, expression of ISG20 can be induced by type-I and type-II interferons following cellular exposure to RNA-based viruses (1). Mechanistically, ISG20 localizes to the nucleolus and is believed to inhibit the replication of RNA-based viruses, in part, by employing 3'-5' exonuclease activity toward viral RNAs (2-5).
