Hamilton, HxSil C8 3 µm, 2.1 x 50 mm, PN: 79117

Alkylated silica is widely used for reversed-phase HPLC columns. Hamilton offers two alkylated silica columns: HxSil C18 and HxSil C8. The C8 columns (PN: 79117) are less hydrophobic than the C18 columns and thereby give rise to faster analysis times for those compounds that are strongly retained on a C18 column.

Description
Silica packing material for a variety of reversed-phase separations, Hamilton HxSil C8 columns are well-end-capped for retention time reproducibility and durability. The C8 demonstrates excellent selectivity needed for complex sample mixtures and gives shorter retention times than a C18. The C8 columns are less hydrophobic than the C18 columns and thereby give rise to faster analysis times for those compounds that are strongly retained on a C18 column. Application Examples: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, small organic molecules.
