The CBS (Corey-Bakshi-Shibata) oxazaborolidine catalyst has been used in the asymmetric reduction of prochiral ketones. Other applications include the enantioselective synthesis of α-hydroxy acids, α-amino acids, C₂ symmetrical ferrocenyl diols, and propargyl alcohols.
