Description
General description
Ethyl lactate is an economically viable green solvent used in organic synthesis. It is generally employed in organic reactions like multi-component reactions, cycloaddition reaction, asymmetric induction, photochemical synthesis, and ligand-free coupling reactions, etc.
Application
(−)-Ethyl L-lactate can be used in the preparation of:
(R)-(+)-2-methyloxirane.
(S)-2-((tert-Butyldimethylsilyl)oxy)propanal, a key intermediate for the synthesis of maltepolides.
Features and Benefits
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product is a safer and more sustainable alternative to ethyl acetate and acetone. It is an ester of natural L-lactic acid, which is produced by fermentation of sugar and thus aligns with "Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries" and "Use of Renewable Feedstocks".
